About the Role

An opportunity has become available for a Designer / Estimator in either Masterton or Palmerston North NZ for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Design Manager. The Designer/ Estimator will provide quality engineering design and estimation services, quotations. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:

  • Pricing and estimating accurately to ensure profitable outcomes on all projects.
  • Design and Modelling of overhead and underground distribution networks.
  • Manage projects where appropriate.
  • Contribute to streamlining and growing the CIW business.
  • Mentor junior designers in the CIWR space.
  • Support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.


About You

  • Estimation and design experience preferred.
  • Exposure within electrical distribution networks desirable.
  • A high standard of Computer literacy.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid time management and organisational skills.
