He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are looking for highly motivated and all-round Weekend Cook who wants to showcase their appetite on focusing delivery of fresh, nutritional meals within our aged care facility CHT Peacehaven in Blockhouse bay. This is a permanent part-time and hours of work will be 16 hours distributed between Saturday and Sunday.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Preparing, baking, cooking and presenting mouth-watering and innovative dishes for our residents
  • Maintain an allergen awareness and present options for nutritional healthy eating
  • Monitoring and maintaining food safety compliance


He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • This position requires a person with leadership skills and a person who takes pride in personal presentation and cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • A friendly and helpful nature is important to us, the residents and client.
  • You will already have some experience working in a commercial kitchen, be familiar with bulk food cooking and requirements in an aged care environment.
  • Ideally you will hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be happy to train for one.
  • You will need to have the ability to work independently and confidently.
  • Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
