Job Description

Do you want to join our team? New Shoots Bayfair are looking for a full time, qualified preschool team leader to join our team and form strong, kind, and meaningful relationships with our tamariki. You will have previous leadership experience and enjoy bringing strength, knowledge, and fun into a team.

New Shoots Bayfair is set in the stunning beachside town of Mount Maunganui, just a stones throw from the beach and Bayfair shopping centre. Our kaiako work together to create a fun, vibrant, and adventurous environment for all our tamariki. We are influenced but the RIE, Pikler and Howard Gardner philosophies so every day is full of respect, adventure, and development. Our Team Leader needs to be someone with a passion for leadership, mentorship, and building meaningful relationships. Someone that can enrich our kaiako with their amazing knowledge and experience.

We are looking for a Team Leader who is:

  • Confident in their teaching and leadership practices
  • Strong in their planning and documentation - particularly individual learning plans and internal evaluation
  • An excellent communicator and listener
  • Experienced with preschoolers and takes pride in their respectful practice
  • Has a creative mind with the ability to create exciting and intriguing provocations that extend on our tamariki's learning
  • Amazing in building genuine and strong relationships with children, families and team members
  • Creative in their team culture initiatives and brings an ability to unite and uplift
  • Walking into our spacious building is like entering an oasis – delicious smells waft in from the kitchen and calming classrooms are filled with sustainable resources to create a homely feel that puts children at ease.
