Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
Join our forensic residential service supporting tangata whaiora on their journey from inpatient services to living in the community. The forensic service is a high needs service, so you'll need to be able to build strong relationships with tangata whaiora and their whanau.
What does a Support Worker do? You’ll work alongside individuals to support their recovery, improve their wellbeing and to live a life that’s meaningful to them. So you might be assisting them with meal prep and clean-up and other daily living tasks, working on an activity, and assisting with medication where required.
You’ll also
- Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice.
- Complete relevant administrative tasks, take comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers to the next shift, and support and collaborate with your colleagues.
- You’ll be working Sunday and Monday, 7am to 3.30pm, based in Christchurch.
About You | Mōu
You’ll believe in using a person-centered approach, and the positive benefits of working in a recovery focused way.

You must hold a current and full drivers licence
Hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering units 6400, 6401 and 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment
Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Be a supportive and collaborative team player with great relationship building skills
