About the role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing care and support to our Elders by following Enliven’s Eden Principles to deliver a safe, secure and supportive environment in which we encourage our residents to maintain their independence and to make decisions for themselves .Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the highest standard of personal cares to every Resident
  • Support elders to have autonomy by doing as much as possible for themselves in a way each elder chooses.
  • Assist and support the daily activities in a way that reflects our Elders holistic well-being
  • Take instruction and delegation under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide assistance when an emergency occurs or additional support is required by the team
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner


We have two residential Homes in Palmerston North - Brightwater and Willard, which means we are looking for a number of people to work part time on a permanent basis at one of either of these locations. Our Rosters include a mix of morning, afternoon and night shifts, and some weekend working.

About You

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organized with great interpersonal skills and sense of humor. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect, ideally, you will already have some experience in aged care, but if not we can help with that, having the right attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

In addition, you will have:

  • Ability to communicate with and respect the diversity of each individual living and working in our Home
  • Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or preparedness to gain one
  • Good written and documentation skills
  • Basic computer skills
