Downer Energy work with some of New Zealand’s largest asset owners and energy providers including Powerco.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to grow your career as a Line Mechanic within our team working across Taranaki, based out of our New Plymouth or Hawera depots. You will be responsible for the provision of quality service and workmanship in the areas of construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification of all network equipment and installations.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

It is essential that you are an experienced Line Mechanic with knowledge of the power industry and can offer the following:

Essential

  • Relevant EWRB Line Mechanic Registration and current practising licence
  • Current Class 1 driver’s licence (car)
  • Sound knowledge of the Safety Manual Electricity Industry (SMEI) and Safe practices for Low Voltage Electrical Work


Desirable

  • Faults Experience
  • Powerco competencies
  • 2 Years Post Qualification experience
  • Class 2 drivers licence
