The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all aspects of the event planning journey are conducted in a smooth, efficient, and collaborative manner, while providing excellent event experiences, primarily at Mercury Baypark.
Our Event Planners work with clients to ensure the successful planning of events, by guiding them on finding the best solutions for their events as well as capturing the event requirements accurately and communicating both the clients’ requirements and expectations effectively to the wider teams.
This is a 14-month fixed term role to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with and coordinate all logistical elements of event planning including catering, audio visual, key suppliers/contractors and ticketing.
- Monitor event financials including raising invoices, controlling expenditure, and following up payments.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and other event and venue regulatory requirements e.g. resource consent, traffic management, liquor licensing.
- Deliver a consistent level of high quality, well organised, proactive, and supportive client experiences.
- Support other aspects of the event cycle, including sales and delivery, while working on a rostered basis – flexibility and some outside of “business hours” work is required.
About you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a venue, conference facility, or events organisation.
- Experience working with Momentus (Ungerboeck).
- Knowledge and experience in event planning and delivery.
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Genuine passion for events and the community.
