About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
Starting 14 January 2025 this is a 40 hour a week role working Tuesday - Saturday 8.00am – 4.30pm in or Community team, based in Birmingham Drive, Christchurch.
As a Support Worker your responsibilities include:
- Supporting with budgeting and independent living
- Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.
- Attend appointments and connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience.
- Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most.
- Foster positive change for a more positive life.
- Provide medication support for our people.
- Provide support with household management.
- Managing a caseload and all reporting requirements.
- Whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening or helping with everyday household tasks.
You | Mōu
You must have previous experience working in a community environment and mental health and addictions sector.
You must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised Level 4 equivalent qualification. You must hold a NZ full driver’s licence.
Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one within 2 months of starting.
You must have excellent time management and record keeping skills.
Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
