The Company
With over 50 years in the engineering industry, this company is a multidisciplinary consultancy, with expertise in the fields of Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural Engineering, and Surveying. They are an ACENZ member, as well as an Engineering New Zealand Professional Development Partner. They have an active mentoring programme for their young professionals, encouraging continuing professional development through mentoring, regular in-house seminars, job specific training and assistance with external study/training.

The Role
Joining the Environmental team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions. You'll gain a holistic understanding of projects, from conception to completion, encompassing design, permitting, tendering, construction oversight, and administrative aspects.

The role will primarily cover stormwater management, encompassing skills in Water Sensitive Urban Design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, writing Stormwater Management Plans, and preparing Flood Reports. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in other sectors, such as erosion and sediment control, landfilling, water supply, wastewater, or various other areas they specialise in.

About You

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a stormwater related role
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Bachelor of Engineering
  • Basic understanding of stormwater/design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, similar)
  • Familiarity with applicable Codes of Practice, NZ Standards, technical publications, and guidelines
  • Strong English language skills (both written and verbal)
