Estimator/Project Coordinator Position – Heartlands Sheds Team at Darfield ITM

Are you ready to join a dynamic and growing team? Heartlands Sheds, part of Darfield ITM, is looking to hire a new member of our Kitset Pole Shed Department. This multi-faceted entry/intermediate level position combines a mix of estimating, quantity surveying, project management, purchasing, and administration—offering variety and opportunity for career growth within a supportive team environment.
The Role:
As an Estimator/Project Coordinator, you'll be an integral part of our team, working closely with staff, builders, and clients. The position includes:
- Material take-offs
- Inputting quotes
- Client and contractor liaison
- Answering customer and supplier calls
- Admin and invoicing tasks
- Site visits
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately completing material take offs from Engineered plans (training provided)
- Creating quotes using automated shed design software (Endeavour/Harrier, we will provide training)
- Working professionally and positively with customers, builders and suppliers.
- Reading and interpreting building plans.
- Managing and coordinating material requirements and quotes.
- Assisting with admin tasks, including invoicing, ordering material, receipting, and project coordination.
Who We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Professional and positive communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills with Microsoft office etc.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans.
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- A "make it happen" attitude and flexibility to take on different tasks.
- NZ Residency and a full driver’s license.
- We are open to considering applicants from a range of different back grounds and experience levels. You may be a graduate QS looking to get your first start, a builder looking to get off the tools or someone with Merchant experience in the trade department looking for a change.
