Job Description

The Delivery Practice is a team which works across all areas ("chapters") of delivery, including Business Analysis, Change Management, Execution (which includes Delivery Leads and Project Management), and Portfolio. These chapters support initiatives right across ASB, helping us work in new ways, and developing outstanding customer experiences through change and transformation.

We are now looking for an experience Delivery Lead who has deep experience in managing large, complex multi-stream transformational programmes of work to join our team on a full-time basis based at North Wharf.

This Delivery Lead position will focus on driving our programme of work to transform how we manage financial crime at ASB, protecting Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.

Mo te tūranga | About the Role:

The Delivery Lead plays the driving role in overseeing the delivery of large programmes of work, and also grows the delivery team's skills through coaching, mentoring and building capability. It's about leading and enabling people through the "How", keeping them focused on the "What", unpicking any roadblocks, and being their biggest fan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of the Programme outcomes with amazing experiences for our ASB employees and customers.
  • Manage appropriate communication, governance and consolidated reporting to multiple senior stakeholder groups.
  • Manage the Risks, Issues and Dependencies across the programme of work, and also where the programme is impacted from other initiatives happening in the bank.
  • Lead strategic alignment for the team; oversee delivery areas, financial management, risk and controls
  • Engagement with senior leaders across ASB and CBA (eg Risk, Audit, Business Units, Technology, Strategy etc) to build partnerships


Mōu |About you:

A passionate and experienced professional with at least 10 years experience managing complex programmes of work, you will empower the Streams of work within the programme to take on the challenge and create an environment centred on an unbeatable desire to build and develop ASB's role in preventing financial crime.

Previous work in the financial services sector and/or experience in working within highly regulated environments would be essential for success in this role.

As a Delivery Lead, you will ideally have:

  • A breadth of experience at a senior leadership level, including areas such as business efficiency, customer experience, agile transformation, project delivery, governance, strategy, people leadership
  • Wide-ranging business management experience, leading portfolios of people, resources and budgets to deliver successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated technology, business and strategic planning and/or change management experience
  • Ability to build effective relationships, lead and develop high performing teams across functional lines
  • The ability to successfully navigate through complexity, at pace, with a natural ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills at a senior level cross functionally
  • A track record of demonstrating our mindsets: 'customer obsession', 'pace over perfection', 'transparency & trust', 'learn it all over know it all' and 'empowered to do'.
  • Proven credibility to drive and influence people and manage significant change with employees at all levels
