About the role:

As a Service Manager, you will have direct responsibility for delivering financial and operational targets for Cushman & Wakefield's Christchurch lines of business. You will manage the Christchurch trade teams and regional contractors to ensure the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance and minor contract works. Your role includes staff management, achieving financial goals, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and supporting nationwide opportunities in conjunction with the Branch Manager and business development team.

  • Staff Management: Lead and coordinate the Christchurch Trades team, ensuring technical expertise and HSSEQ compliance.
  • Financial Goals: Achieve financial targets, ensure accurate KPI and compliance reporting, and manage invoicing and project reconciliations.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality service through PPM, reactive, and minor project delivery, maintaining strong communication with clients and subcontractors.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and estimating support, assist with national bids, and support minor works/projects delivery.
  • Relationship Development: Develop customer relationships and support business development initiatives.
  • HR Management: Coordinate HR issues, including recruitment and disciplinary actions, in conjunction with the Branch Manager and HR Manager.


About you:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ trade experience, with five in a commercial maintenance environment.
  • Minimum of two years directly managing a trades team.
  • Relevant trade qualification with current registration/licenses.
  • Strong people management and client relationship skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate and develop relationships with key clients.
  • Ability to develop and review pricing/quoting both technically and financially.
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to Quality Assurance Procedures and Health & Safety legislative requirements.
  • Proficient in computer skills – Word, Excel, JDE, and applications.
  • Good organisational skills, able to work with a high level of autonomy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality written documentation.
