Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As a Line 1 Risk Manager you will play a key role in assisting senior management to deliver better business outcomes through the provision of pro-active risk insight, advice and solutions. As part of the wider Risk Management team you will enjoy building strong partnerships as you work closely with stakeholders across the business unit.

This role is responsible for providing an advanced level of operational risk management and compliance advice and guidance to key stakeholders within high profile portfolios. You will be good at prioritising workload, because no two days are the same - you must be able to juggle work priorities to meet deadlines.

If you enjoy liaising with different stakeholders/ people and working on complex tasks, identifying strategic solutions, understanding regulators' requirements in both NZ and Australia you will surely find this a rewarding opportunity as you contribute to uplifting the risk culture in WNZL as a whole.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 5+ years within the financial services industry, with at least 3 years’ experience in a risk discipline (credit management, compliance, audit or operational risk)
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience
  • Experience in dealing with senior management and specialists
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor style and content or communication to the needs of the audience.
  • Experience managing competing demands and organising projects or programmes of work
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills and ability to communicate with credibility
  • Understand New Zealand and Australian Operational Risk and Compliance Risk Regulators and their requirements (e.g., APRA Standards and RBNZ CoRs)
