We are looking for a physically fit, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Parks, Sport and Recreation as an Amenity Horticulture Apprentice.
What we offer:
- A 3-year fixed term contract during which time you will gain valuable work experience and successfully complete an NZQA Level 4 Advanced National Certificate in Horticulture Services - Amenity
- A dedicated Apprentice Co-ordinator who will track your progress and guide you towards completion of your qualification
- The opportunity to work in a variety of locations (based on a rotation scheme) and showcase your work in several of our city's prestigious sites including the Botanic Garden, Ōtari-Wilton's Bush, and the many other beautiful gardens of Wellington

- If you would like to earn while you learn, have a commitment and genuine interest in plants and horticulture, good writing and reading skills, and preferably three years' secondary education and a clean driver's licence then we would like to hear from you.

There is a requirement to be physically fit for this role and applicants must be prepared to undergo pre-employment health, fitness, and drug screening as part of the pre-employment process.
Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand for 3 years to apply for this role.
Please note that apprentices work through a progression training framework and will start on the Living Wage, $27.80 per hour.
