Job Description

Are you a business development superstar looking for your next challenge? We are looking for an energetic driven Business Development superstar to join our team who wants to make a real difference in helping our clients navigate their challenges and leverage opportunities.

This is not a direct sales role! This is a great role that combines a mix of strategy, coaching and driving BD initiatives with rolling your sleeves up and doing the doing.

Across over 80 countries, Dentons helps clients grow, protect, operate and finance their organisation by providing uniquely global and deeply local legal solutions. The challenges our clients are navigating and the opportunities they are advancing are changing at an accelerating pace. We work with clients to help them find business solutions to achieve their goals.

The team

Reporting to the Business Development & Marketing Director, this role will work alongside our Wellington based Business Development Managers. You will be part of a team that collaboratively leads, project manages and executes the firm’s wide growth initiatives and activities. We are in growth mode and have an ambitious client strategy. As such, there are opportunities to get stuck in, bring innovative solutions to this role, improve processes and work with the team to achieve our strategy and bring to life the firm’s overall aspirations.

Day to day, you will be

  • Project managing tenders and capability statements from start to finish, including advising on strategies, writing content and producing the pitch materials.
  • Working alongside partners to drive the growth of the firm’s clients, practice areas, sectors and overall growth in the market.
  • Coaching and supporting partners and senior lawyers on specific client and profiling opportunities.
  • Working with partners and senior lawyers to develop and identify new client relationships, opportunities and profiling activities.
  • Developing and executing growth plans, projects and new initiatives.

About you

You will join us with a minimum of five years’ business development experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment. You will have sound communication skills, strong computer literacy (MS Office Suite) and the ability to build effective relationships and interact confidently with people at all levels. You have a very strong client first and quality focus, with the ability to bring new ideas to the role and be on the lookout for new ways to achieve our growth ambitions. Passion and energy for what you do along with a desire to work in a fast paced environment is essential.

If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!

In return, we will offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with our clients, where you will get plenty of valuable experience. We are a future focussed firm and that ethos extends to our people too.

Employee Benefits:

At Dentons Kensington Swan, we offer a competitive remuneration package along with benefits that will make a positive difference to your work/life balance.

  • An extra paid holiday for Dentons Kensington Swan Day
  • Access to free in-house legal advice
  • My Balance – we work flexibly and remotely at all levels in our business
  • We invest in our people, so learning and development are key
