Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Analyst to join their Corporate & Institutional Banking team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of their business growth, portfolio management, credit processes, and overall team performance.

As the Senior Analyst you will collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, drive financial analysis, and play a pivotal role in maintaining robust credit analysis standards.

The role:

  • Portfolio Management: Collaborate with Relationship Managers to proactively manage the loan portfolio, ensuring adherence to required standards. Oversee the end-to-end credit process, encompassing comprehensive due diligence, loan drawdown and repayment management, interest and fee collection, interest rate resets, and ongoing customer management.
  • Financial Expertise: Utilise advanced financial modelling skills to prepare credit applications, term sheets, and covenant controls.
  • Market Insights: Conduct ongoing monitoring of portfolio sector performance and provide insightful market research summaries. Promptly identify early warning signals and deteriorating trends, contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor junior analysts, fostering their growth and development. Facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams, ensuring knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Transactional Banking: Assist Relationship Managers in resolving transactional banking queries.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Archive loan documents appropriately in meticulous compliance with bank policies. Conduct periodic reviews of loan files, ensuring accuracy and alignment with policies.
  • Insightful Reporting: Prepare a variety of reports required by the bank, offering clear insights that inform strategic initiatives.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrate flexibility by embracing tasks assigned by the department and the bank, reflecting your commitment to the organization's success.


About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar
  • Extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking credit analysis with local banks is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving business targets, meeting customer needs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with effective communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and presentation capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of the NZ corporate/institutional banking market
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
