The fixed term 25 hour pw Communications Advisor (Parental leave cover) is an integral part of the Marketing & Fundraising team and is committed to the development and delivery of impactful internal and external communications. This role is vital to executing our communication strategy and ensuring our messaging resonates seamlessly with our organisation’s mission and strategic objectives.

About You
You are a proactive professional with excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work autonomously. You have a strong understanding of stroke and the not-for-profit sector, along with well-developed written and verbal communication skills for diverse channels and audiences. Your cultural awareness and respect for others are complemented by your understanding and use of Te Reo Māori and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
You thrive in collaborative environments, building effective relationships to achieve goals and contribute to a positive team culture. With a high standard of written English and proofreading skills, you can plan, prioritise, and adapt to challenges while maintaining focus. Your empathy for our mission and purpose, along with your ability to give and receive constructive feedback, makes you an ideal fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Communications Strategy: Develop, implement, and report on the organisation’s marketing and communication strategy, including managing projects like annual reports and new collateral.
Enhance Internal Communications: Provide expert advice, write internal communications, and support crisis communications during emergencies.
Engage Stakeholders: Build and maintain positive relationships, capturing impactful stories from stroke survivors and their whānau.
Create Compelling Content: Develop content for newsletters, campaigns, social media, and press releases, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
Uphold Brand Integrity: Ensure all communications adhere to the organisation’s style, messaging, and quality standards.
Support Organisational Goals: Contribute to a positive workplace culture, adhere to policies, and align work with the Foundation’s strategic objectives.
