Are you passionate about making a difference and driving a strong fraud awareness culture? At IAG, we are committed to creating safer, stronger, and more confident communities. We are looking for a dynamic Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our team and help us achieve this mission.

As a Fraud Prevention Specialist, you will develop, implement, and drive a strong fraud awareness culture across IAG. This includes upskilling employees through training and communication activities, providing expert fraud advice, and supporting the development of IAG’s fraud risk strategy. This role is crucial in our holistic approach to fraud prevention, detection and response.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Communication and Awareness Initiatives: Lead and deliver engaging fraud awareness and training programs. Design creative training solutions tailored to specific audiences and drive the annual Fraud Awareness Week campaign.
  • Fraud Prevention: Provide expert fraud advice to ensure effective prevention and detection initiatives are considered. Support F&I projects with your subject matter expertise.
  • Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal and external groups to gather insights and trends, using these to develop focused training and communications activities.
  • This is a permanent full-time position with hybrid working conditions, available at any of our IAG offices across Aotearoa, New Zealand.


Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be successful in the role you’ll ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Fraud Knowledge: Specialist knowledge and experience in fraud prevention or detection, including contentious and/or fraudulent claims or policies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently deliver and facilitate training sessions to a range of audiences.
  • Relationship Building: Strong ability to build and manage relationships across a variety of groups including claims people, brokers, salespeople, and external suppliers.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite.


Desired Background:

  • Experience in fraud risk management or fraud intelligence analysis.
  • Proven success in delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in a coaching or mentoring capacity.
  • Knowledge of insurance and claims systems.
