Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

An exciting 12-month opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager at the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). In this role, you will be key to developing and delivering programmes that foster entrepreneurial skills and support staff and students in turning ideas into impactful ventures.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement the annual CIE programme strategy, aligning operational activities with strategic goals.
  • Design and manage university-wide programmes that build innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets for students and staff.
  • Support recruitment campaigns by collaborating with the CIE Engagement Manager.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Ensure high service delivery standards and excellent customer experiences in all interactions.
  • Oversee the CIE programmes budget and support effective financial management.
  • Lead and develop staff by providing clear responsibilities, training, and resources.


This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 1 year fixed term position covering staff leave.
This role is primarily based on-site, with some flexibility depending on business needs.
Evening availability (up to two nights per week) may be required to support programme delivery during busy periods.

The remuneration range for this role is $72,000 - $88,900, depending on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate is a skilled professional with 8+ years of business experience and a strong passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. You will be adept at designing and leading programmes that empower the next generation of change-makers and shape the future of the innovation ecosystem.

You will also:

Bring knowledge of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, ideally in Auckland’s major organisations, or have practical experience in a well-developed ecosystem abroad.
Have experience in group facilitation and individual mentoring/coaching.
Possess strong presentation skills, capable of engaging both small and large audiences.

  • Demonstrate exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with a wide range of individuals, from students and academic staff to contractors, sponsors, and donors.
  • Hold a tertiary-level qualification, ideally including courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialisation.
