Job Description

Position Overview
Massey University’s School of Agriculture and Environment is seeking two Tutors (18 month and 6 month terms) to support the development and delivery of online, for-credit short courses for high school teachers in the discipline of Agriculture and Horticulture. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to professional development in the secondary education sector while working with leading academics in the field.

As a Tutor, you will:

  • Assist in the design and development of online short courses using existing undergraduate materials.
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff and the Horticulture and Agriculture Teachers Association (HATA) to ensure course relevance and quality.
  • Develop and manage online learning platforms, including the Massey University STREAM system.
  • Support the creation of assessments and learning resources for high school teachers and students.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks related to course implementation and university policies.


As the successful applicant you will have:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree (or partial completion of a postgraduate degree).
  • Experience or strong interest in education and career development.
  • Proficiency in online learning technologies and digital course development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Agriculture, Horticulture, and/or Animal Science.
  • Experience working with STREAM or similar learning management systems (preferred).
