The Parks Operations team provide a critical customer facing support service, ensuring the city's residents and visitors enjoy a well-managed and maintained environment.

  • We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Parks, Sport and Recreation as an Arboriculture Apprentice.


What we offer:

  • A 3-year fixed term contract during which time you will be able to gain valuable work experience and successfully complete an NZQA Level 4 National Certificate in Arboriculture.

If you would like to earn while you learn, have a commitment and genuine interest in arboriculture, a driver's licence, knowledge of amenity horticulture, good writing and reading skills, and preferably three years secondary education then we would like to hear from you. Because this is a safety sensitive role, candidates will have to pass muscular skeletal and health checks and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Please note that all the staff in this team will be subject to random testing as well.

Applicants must also be eligible to work in New Zealand for 3 years to apply for this role.
