Awa Nursery, located in Waimuaku, has over 9 Hectares of plant production space and is key to our growth plans across our wider Kings Plant Barn business.

Wholesaling direct to the public and other businesses, we have been servicing gardeners, garden maintenance crews and the landscape industry for over 20 years and more recently supporting internal supply chain to our Kings Plant Barn retail stores.

If you are passionate about service, love helping customers, thrive on trialling new ways of doing things and working as part of a team - we want you.

We are currently looking for Full Time Team Leader to join our retail team at Awa Nursery.

About the role:

  • Upholding an excellent customer experience and ensuring standards exceeded to drive sales
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to help them develop their skills
  • Motivating and driving the team to exceed targets
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are being followed
  • Maintaining high quality and appropriate quantity levels of stock on site
  • Fast paced and dynamic
  • Roster includes both weekday and weekend work
  • Routine plant maintenance


If you are:

  • Motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Passionate for people and developing success
  • Ideally have retail experience
  • Excellent at communicating
  • Have horticultural knowledge or are interested in plants
  • A good level of fitness is required as this is a physical role that involves heavy lifting
