About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be responsible for delivering high quality commercial property legal advice, including reviewing and drafting documents, at varying levels of complexity. Working closely with Partner, Lester Houghton, you will be part of a collaborative team that values your input. You will have many opportunities to work directly with clients which includes local authorities, tertiary institutes, and large commercial clients. Work will include but not be limited to:

  • Property and business acquisitions and disposals
  • Commercial leasing
  • Entity formation and restructuring
  • Contract drafting and negotiations
  • Significant local subdivisions


Ideally, you will be based in the Manawatū or Wellington but remote working with the ability to travel may be considered for the right person. Part time and other flexible working options are on offer and there are progression pathways here! What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

  • 2-10 years of post-admission experience – please note that experience outside of this will be considered.
  • Commercial and/or commercial property experience. CR Law will consider varied legal backgrounds – for example, you could be in general practice, or in a specialist team elsewhere and want to make a change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt.
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement – you will need to be someone that likes to challenge themselves.
  • Current practising certificate or eligibility to hold one.
