The Company
Established in 1994 our privately owned Engineering based client has cemented their position in the Invercargill market and are known for their ability to build, create and maintain all things engineering. From assisting customers in the rural sector fabricating and maintaining agricultural gear to heavy road equipment to building wine tanks they are well known and capable to take on jobs big or small, challenging or near impossible. There is no shortage of variety in this job.

Due to the increased work load there is a requirement for a full time additional Trade Qualified or highly experienced General Engineer to join their team.

The role
This is a full time position and will be predominately work shop based. Reporting to the Manager, every day will be different. The work will be a combination of light, medium & heavy fabrication. This is an exciting role for someone who is seeking challenge and variety and who may be looking for their next step. To be successful you will be required to have the following skills and experience;

• Trade Qualification or a minimum of 3 years' experience in Fitter Welding
• Experience in a combination of light, medium and heavy fabrication
• Experience in lathe work would be advantageous
• Proven experience in a General Engineering workshop
• Proven problem solving abilities as you will be involved in the creation and fabrication of some really interesting projects
• Ability to multi task and work at times under pressure
• Self-motivation and willingness to learn and be a team player
• Physical fitness as there will be at times heavy lifting and the requirement to get into tricky places.
• Great communication skills.
