  • New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Sports Turf), Level 4 or Equiv
  • 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm).

Programmed is a leading provider of open space and full facility maintenance services, proudly managing Auckland's parks, sports fields, streets, and community buildings. We also provide expert horticultural, landscaping, and plant supply services to both local government and private enterprises.

Our Henderson-based Sports Team is currently seeking an experienced, skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join us. In this role, you will assist with the preparation and ongoing maintenance of sports fields. Strong time management and budgeting skills are essential, particularly for the successful delivery of sports field renovation projects.

Key Duties:

  • Ensuring sports fields are presented to the highest standard, including irrigation control, general grounds and sports field maintenance, renovation programmes, weed control, and moisture testing.
  • Report writing, including monthly reports on field renovations/conditions/recommendations, irrigation audits, pre-season checks, condition ratings, and nitrogen use.
  • Job quoting, managing annual budgets, monthly charges, forecasting work, capturing and allocating costs, and ordering materials.
  • Project supervision and management, including overseeing projects, liaising with customers/clients, supervising staff and subcontractors, assessing trainees, and providing technical advice.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in grounds and sports field maintenance.
  • New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Sports Turf), Level 4 or Equivalent.
  • A full, clean NZ driver's license with confident manual driving skills.
  • Strong planning abilities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent customer focus and sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • The ability to work independently while adhering to health and safety requirements.
  • Stamina with a good level of fitness and agility.
  • A solid knowledge of turf species and experience in sports field renovations.
