He angitūtanga: The opportunity Auckland Council has an exciting opportunity for asset management experts who understand the importance of investment and performance modelling to join the Asset Management Centre of Excellence.
You will help support the asset-owning departments in the council to optimise their investment in managing assets, and to drive high performance across the organisation. You will help set us on a path to becoming the best-performing local government in Australasia.
With a renewed focus on the importance of asset management, driven enthusiastically by our Chief Executive and supported by the Executive Leadership Team, this is a rare opportunity to make a significant difference in one of the largest asset-owning entities in New Zealand. We have embarked on a major transformation to align with the ISO 55000 series, starting with developing an Asset Management Policy and Committee.
This is a critical role for the council, focusing on optimising predictive models and analytical frameworks to support asset investment decision-making and performance analysis.
As the Senior Advisor, Asset Investment & Performance, you will:
develop and support the modelling of investment portfolio options
implement predictive analytics to evaluate asset performance, degradation trends, and risk exposure
provide evidence-based insights to inform asset planning, risk management, and resource allocation
coordinate the approach and metrics with the Asset Management Centre of Excellence Systems Improvements team
support the Principal Financial Integration role within the Systems Improvement team
He kōrero mōu: About you This role requires expertise in asset management investment modelling. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
strong skills in analysing complex and incomplete data to generate actionable insights for decision-makers
asset management knowledge, including funding sources and asset management principles
understanding of ISO 5500X standards and the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM).
ability to link policy considerations and decisions to operational process outcomes.
passion for continuous improvement and a drive to provide clarity for decision-makers through asset management processes.
