Duncan’s Brewing is an independently owned microbrewery located on the Kapiti Coast. We like to play with new style beers, which respectfully nod to the past. We believe in consistency, balance, evolution, quality and tasty ingredients. The brewery produces around 140,000L of beer annually and supplies both nationwide and internationally (including Australia, UK and Asia).
The Tasting Room Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of onsite retail sales and brand experience for our customers and guests at the Duncan’s Brewing Tasting Room.
General job duties include, but are not limited to: the day to day operation of the Tasting Room, including staffing, performance and upkeep; maintaining retail stock levels for the tasting room and the online store; overseeing the food component of the tasting room; assisting with fulfilling online orders and dispatching; and when business dictates, representing Duncan’s at beer events and festivals, and on occasion supporting the production team with packing and dispatch.
This is a permanent part time position of 20 hours per week (Thur-Sat). The Tasting Room Manager must be available to cover casual FOH staff in case of sickness and annual leave, or work occasional special events or functions outside of their normal working hours.
Essential Skills:
Duty Managers Certificate required
Experience managing hospitality venues
A passion for craft beer and a desire to continuously learn
Excellent customer service skills and an ability to engage with customers with a personable and professional attitude
Honest, reliable and have excellent time management skills
Excellent computer and organisational skills
Exceptional communication (verbal and written)
Attention to detail
Work in a tidy and hygienic manner
Team player who thrives within a small dynamic team
Ability to maneuver 25 kgs and reposition kegs as needed
