The Practice Lead, End User Environments is responsible for ensuring modern, innovative, interactive technologies and digital standard and managed operating environments are available to students, staff and academics at the university. You will lead IT Services efforts to innovate, deliver, manage and operate these environments including balancing day-to-day management with delivery of projects and initiatives, while fostering a positive team and university environment.

Lead the design, deployment and management of end user compute services (including desktop) Lead the selection, configuration and management of interactive and collaborative teaching and learning spaces Embed systems and practices that enable management of devices and spaces Manage packaging and deployment of user applications Ensure service availability and manage enhancements Enable automated and routine management to improve user experience Provide expert advice on your areas and design prototypes Drive business change through financial, technical, and strategic alignment Influence attitudes, decisions and actions Foster team performance and engagement Collaborate to meet strategies, plans and targets
Ko koe tēnei | Who You Are
Tertiary qualified in IT or business management, or equivalent experience Extensive experience in IT, particularly in end user environments and, preferably, interactive teaching and learning technologies Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an IT or IT-related leadership position Deep experience in the provision of end-user device and its service environment Proven ability to manage stakeholder and vendor relationships Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty Knowledge of strategic technologies, preferably in educational or government contexts

Many of the IT Services teams and business stakeholders are based on our Palmerston North campus, which is the preferred location for this role. Consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based at our Wellington Campus, however regular travel (minimum of 1 day per week) to Palmerston North will be required.
This is a full time (37.5hrs) role and appointment will be commensurate of skills and experience within the $130 - $170K range.
