IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community.

The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.



Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

We would prefer someone who has previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

• Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults but not essential.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• A Full NZ driver's license.
