He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:
The Information and Communication Technology Group (ICT) provides a wide range of ICT planning, implementation, operation and support services as a shared service to the KiwiRail Group.
Leading a team of ICT project managers, you’ll ensure best practice in project governance, execution and delivery across KiwiRail. You’ll work cross-functionally to foster a culture of excellence and adaptability, thereby ensuring efficient resource allocation and risk management to deliver high-impact initiatives on time and within scope and budget.
This role is required to:
Develop, implement and continuously refine project management standards, methodologies and tools
Create and deliver training programmes, workshops and certification opportunities (PMP and PRINCE2)
Establish a project management community of practice
Act as primary administrator for project management software
Perform regular quality assurance audits, focusing on behaviour adherence to best practice
Develop and manage a repository to capture insights and lessons learned
Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring:
You’ll have ten plus years of experience in project management with at least five years in a leadership role within a PMO or similar function. You’ll also bring to this role:
Proven experience in establishing a PMO, developing project governance frameworks and driving project delivery excellence
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation abilities
Demonstrated success in project portfolio management, budgeting and resource optimisation
A deep knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (ideally JIRA)
A full, clean, current NZ driver’s licence
Your ability to lead and mentor a team within a fast-paced, diverse workplace and manage competing priorities, while making robust decisions, will ensure your success in this high-demand role.
