Retail NZ is the peak body for retailers in New Zealand. We are here to make the voice of retailers heard and make running a business easier. We help retailers succeed through providing advice, support, resources, templates and advocacy on behalf of retailers throughout Aotearoa. We listen to our members and stand up on real issues affecting the retail industry. We cover a wide range of retailers from beauty spas, supermarkets, fashion, homewares, hardware and much more.

We currently have an interesting opportunity available for a self motivated and results driven Marketing Adviser in our Central Wellington office.

You'll be responsible for Member communications, marketing, website maintenance, social media, and design.

Key duties will include:

  • Ownership of weekly newsletter and all other email messaging to members
  • Develop appropriate content and leverage the content to promote Retail NZ
  • Manage the marketing calendar and its delivery
  • Support events, partners and other member activities
  • Regularly review, update and develop website content, ensure it remains topical and is optimised for search
  • Day to day management of Retail NZ's social media activity
  • Proactively identify opportunities
  • Deliver increased followers and engagement across all platforms
  • Ensure all Retail NZ content is brand compliant, accessible and supports communication objectives
  • Undertake design work as required

To be considered you will need to demonstrate a proven track record as a Marketing Administrator, Coordinator or Advisor or similar, providing communications, marketing and social media content.

You'll also need:

  • Good knowledge of brand and design concepts and software packages (including Design products, Microsoft Office suite and CRM software) and telephone systems
  • Excellent English language and interpersonal skills, including verbally and business written communications
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of brand design and processes and the importance of following these
  • A high level of creativity and the ability to take an idea and turn it into something new
  • Resilience, tenacity, and ability to handle deadlines


This is a full time role, 9am - 5pm. The start date for this position will be from the 26th of May, 2025.
