About the role
Our market-leading Tax team is looking for a junior lawyer with a strong interest in tax law. This position will be working with partners Mathew McKay and Graham Murray, in our Auckland office.
As a junior lawyer in the team, you will assist on a wide range of tax matters, including:
- advising clients on the tax aspects of corporate transactions, restructurings, financing arrangements, cross border transactions, and securitisations;
- representing clients in tax disputes and litigation;
- assisting clients in making tax ruling applications and achieving other means of certainty; and
- in advocating for legislative change and development.
Our tax practice focuses on solving difficult issues for clients through quality analysis and advocacy. The role will present the opportunity for direct engagement with partners and clients on market leading tax work.
Experience and qualifications
- Between 2-4 years PQE, including private practice and/or in-house.
- A strong interest in tax law
- Strong technical legal skills, including research and drafting and problem-solving ability.
- Right to work in New Zealand
