As custodians to some of the most iconic venues across Auckland, we are New Zealand’s only major integrated performing arts centre, underpinned by a commercial conventions business, with a focus on presenting the best of national and international performing arts, conventions, meetings, and entertainment. As such our Business Development Manager position contributes and plays a critical role in delivering profitable revenue opportunities from various domestic and international market opportunities.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As Business Development Manager you are responsible for sourcing Meetings & Conference business aligned with Convention Sales plan priorities. Focusing on business development opportunities and revenue generation using strategic objectives. Shown through,
- Pro-actively sourcing business opportunities from association, corporate sectors and third parties
- Delivering on budget goals by driving development of sales opportunities across designated market segments
- Attendance at domestic and international tradeshow and solicitation of new business opportunities
- Delivery of sales proposals, venue site inspections, quotations, and contracts
- Successful meeting KPI’s around growth, business retention, and prospecting as set by Manager.

As one of our Business Development Managers you will the driving force behind revenue retention, retaining and acquiring new business. Our success is dependent on hiring a senior BDM that fuels our continuous customer service, wants to drive successful relationships and is proud to solicit revenue generation opportunities across our portfolio of venues. This role is ideal for you, in conjunction with the experience below;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a sales or similar role
- Understanding of the Meetings/Hotel/Tourism Industry
- Proven ability to develop and maintain networks and relationships.
