About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

The Scheduler role is part of our Auckland Operations Group Team within Biosecurity New Zealand. We are looking for someone who is good with people, eager to learn and thrives in a diverse environment.

On a daily basis you will book and manage jobs for Quarantine Officers deployed across the greater Auckland area and deal with enquiries. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders, Quarantine Officers and various other areas of the business via phone, email and face to face.

Key duties include:

  • Telephone, email and face to face enquiries and bookings for cargo and port
  • Management of planner database and understanding the Auckland roster
  • Compilation of inspectors' daily job sheets, updates on changes
  • Phone and logistical support for on road Quarantine Officers
  • Redistribution and prioritisation of resources to cover sick leave across work sites
  • Assisting stakeholders and clients with advice and clarification of border clearance directions
  • Produce and maintain relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Auckland Operations team


About You - Mōu

We are looking for a team player who is resilient and motivated, with sound judgment and initiative with a good knowledge of the Auckland area.

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organising and time management skills
  • A high level of numerical and data entry accuracy with skills in databases and Microsoft Office products, or the ability to learn
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • A strong sense of customer service and stakeholder engagement

About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū

This role reports to the Team Leader Auckland Operations Group. You will be part of a team including Schedulers, Rosterers, Staff & Resource Coordinators and a Planner.

The Auckland Operations Group is responsible for assembling rosters, leave planning, onshore and offshore resourcing, workforce planning and post-border response resourcing from Auckland.

In addition, the Schedulers book and coordinate inspection activities for cargo and airfreight at transitional facilities in the wider Auckland area.
