Job Description

We are seeking Healthcare Assistants to join our Bureau services. Additionally, as we settle our Home Care services, we are excited to welcome applications from Support Workers!

Hours of work: Casual on-call (confirmed prior to each assignment).

About the Roles:

Healthcare Assistant: As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be deployed to complete temporary assignments across various aged care facilities in your region. You will gain a broad range of experience and deliver quality care to residents. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Report to the charge nurse and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner
  • Residents’ personal care tasks i.e. hygiene, grooming, toileting, shaving, brushing of teeth and hair
  • Maintain documents in resident healthcare records


Support Workers: As a Support Worker, you will work in the client's house following a care plan that may include some or all of the below:

  • Personal care e.g. hygiene, grooming, toileting, shaving,
  • Meal preparation
  • Community outings and integration
  • Giving medication
  • Manual handling and hoist transfers
  • Housework


Skills and Experience

  • You need to be a New Zealand Citizen/Resident or have open work visa
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and wellbeing is desirable (overseas qualifications are recognized as per Pay Equity*)
  • Experience as a caregiver or support worker
  • People skills with empathy for the elderly and their families
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The flexibility to work on a shift basis
  • These positions require a full/restricted NZ driver's licence and your own reliable transport
