Our Commercial Operations Group are a financial ‘supermarket’ offering our Co-op a pick n mix of solutions across commercial finance, store ownership, funding, financial planning & management, data analysis & reporting, accounting & transactional services including payroll, AR & AP & master data solutions.

Te Tūranga – About the role
This newly created role of Senior Members Accountant supports our Member stores, internal stakeholders and outsourced partners through the provision of financial information and analysis. You will ensure accounting information and financial reports for client members are prepared and delivered to achieve optimal financial performance! Supporting stores with insights, analysis, translating financial information for everyday understanding & answering of general questions and queries.

This is a senior level opportunity to provide leadership, coaching and upskilling of growing accountants within the team and to support the Members Accounting Manager with day to day operational management, stepping up to lead the team.

You will have broad knowledge and hands on experience across systems and processes but more importantly you will have an inquisitive mind, natural ability to troubleshoot, a curiosity for the ‘why’ and enjoying digging deep to solve problems or find new ways of working!

He kōrero mōu - About you
You will need to be an experienced Accountant with a few years practice in a large diverse organisation. FMCG or Retail industry is preferred but not a given! What we need from you is:
· Experience using SAP, MYOB and XERO – you need to be systems savvy
· Confident to ask questions and troubleshoot
· Excellent planning and communication skills, a natural collaborative approach, and the ability to clearly articulate ideas/concepts and present information
· Effectively prioritise and evaluate solutions to make informed decisions
· Leadership initiative, passion to coach and teach others and a baseline understanding of operational management
