The role is based in Whitianga, but covering the Coromandel area. If you enjoy working independently outdoors in beautiful locations with support and connection to a wider team, this role is for you. THE ROLE
This role involves working alone or in pairs. It involves a lot of physical work such as drainage maintenance, clearing kerb & channel and cesspits, pothole repairs, litter collection as well as traffic management set up and implementation and incident response to maintain the Thames Coromandel District Council network
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have good judgement and an excellent work ethic. They will be curious and take interest in the key issues which are problematic for the customer, company and client. They will be able to work unsupervised without losing motivation and will be part of us lifting our service to the community.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have/be:
- Class 2 Driver’s License preferred
- STMS qualification preferred (Will provide TC/STMS training for the right candidate)
- Basic handy/maintenance skills are advantageous
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures and practices
- Demonstrated good verbal and written skills
- Able to work both undirected and within a team environment and have quality workmanship
