Our client, Next Generation Critical Communications (NGCC), was established in 2020 to work with the emergency services and deliver modern, digital, secure critical communications to help frontline responders do their jobs, stay safe and work together to serve the public.

Some of those Public Safety Network (PSN) solutions are now up and running and there are future releases on their roadmap requiring excellent communications support. We’re delighted to be partnering with NGCC in the search for a Wellington-based Communications Lead on a twelve month fixed term.

About the role:

As the Public Safety Network Product Communications Lead, you will be at the heart of one of the government's most significant investments in communication capabilities for our emergency services in decades. The successful candidate will take charge of all PSN product-related communications and PR activity across the PSN’s product portfolio, working hand-in-hand with NGCC’s product, technical and project leads, vendors and emergency services customers to plan, produce and coordinate communications.

The objective is to support customers to use the PSN products, and to create public and stakeholder awareness for the Public Safety Network and the benefits it’s delivering to the emergency services and wellbeing of New Zealand.

What you bring:

As an ideal candidate, you bring the following skills, traits and experience:

  • 8+ years in Strategic Communications or PR, with experience in the private or public sector
  • Strong experience supporting multi-agency public sector transformation programmes with a technology and/or infrastructure theme
  • Strong experience in Strategic Communications planning and delivery, and examples of achieving earned media coverage
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and digital channels and content
  • Energy, drive and hustle to uncover and produce PR-worthy stories and content from anywhere within or outside NGCC and its customers
  • Fantastic interpersonal relationship and stakeholder skills to build trust and connections with key people and teams in NGCC, and also its customer and vendor network as key sources of PR-worthy content.
