Job Description

Waipapa Pine, part of Fletcher Wood Products, is a leading forestry company that specializes in the production of high-quality timber products. Due to our successful continued expansion of operations in the North, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Driver to join our fabulous team based at our Whangarei sawmill.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport materials to and from designated areas, such as storage areas, production lines, or trucks for shipment.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of the forklift and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely delivery and movement of materials.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, such as organizing inventory, picking and packing orders, and maintaining cleanliness.


Requirements:

  • Valid forklift operator certification/license.
  • Proven experience as a forklift driver, ideally within the timber industry or a warehouse/logistics or manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of forklift operations and safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate different types of forklifts.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

The position is full time, minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, so your weekends are free!
