About the role

Our dedicated kitchen team are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join them on a part-time basis at our stunning retirement village, Fairway Gardens in Golflands, East Auckland. You will be responsible for whipping up delicious quality meals and designing tasty menus for our residents and visitors in our restaurant/cafe. Alongside our Kitchen manager you will help lead our team ensuring the coordination of the kitchen is effortless.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, this role is working 15 hours per week over the following shifts: Saturday 9.30am -3.30pm, Monday 9am to 3pm & Tuesday 2.30pm to 7pm = 15hrs week. There may also be opportunity to pick up additional hours if desired.

Duties Include:

  • Creating delicious food in a restaurant environment
  • Coordinating the kitchen to ensure it operates effortlessly.
  • Maintaining a high standard of food with consistent portion sizes and outstanding presentation.
  • Using your leadership skills to support our kitchen team alongside our Kitchen Manager.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar role - previous Aged Care experience would be an advantage
  • Commercial kitchen and or café experience preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Food industry qualification
  • Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation.
