He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As a Senior Storeperson at our Hillside Workshop in Dunedin, you’ll play a key role in managing the receiving, storing, packing, and distribution of parts and materials. Working alongside a skilled and collaborative team, you’ll ensure our supply chain runs smoothly to support KiwiRail’s operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring safe operation of forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers. You'll also assist in optimising storage facilities and ensuring timely supply to meet production and customer needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and controlling the movement of goods in and out of storage facilities
- Entering data and managing purchase orders
- Unloading and receiving goods, checking consignment notes, and ensuring accuracy
- Storing parts in allocated locations and preparing orders for dispatch

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 2 years’ warehouse experience in stock control, dispatch, or inventory management
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- A high level of physical fitness and a team-focused mindset
- A safety-first attitude and commitment to best practices
- An MPI AP certificate for container de-vanning (advantageous but not essential)
- A current OSH forklift operating certificate and an ‘F’ endorsement (Would be desirable but not essential)
- Full Class 1 valid driver licence
