As such, we have an exciting opportunity for an amazing Part-Time Lounge Supervisor within our Air New Zealand Christchurch Lounge. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual with a proven track record of leadership within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational knowledge, exceptional people management skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

You must have extensive experience in a senior or supervisory hospitality role, with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and motivating teams to achieve high standards. Strong problem-solving abilities, a hands-on leadership style, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

This role specifically covers Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Applicants must be available to work both morning and evening shifts across these days. Shift start times vary, ranging from as early as 3:00am for morning shifts, and from 1:00pm onwards for afternoon/evening shifts.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional customer service with a warm, friendly, and welcoming style.
  • Maintain clean and tidy dining/kitchen areas, including cleaning tables, sweeping, mopping floors, and handling waste.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate staff, modeling high standards of performance and behavior.
  • Assist with preparing and presenting food, including portioning and plating for service.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service responsibilities, assisting customers to drink within appropriate limits and managing alcohol-affected customers.

  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Flexible approach and attitude, with good communication skills.
  • Hard-working, physically fit, and reliable.
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate and police clearance are required.
