He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role 
Access Community Health is looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. This specialised, in-house role is crucial for maintaining and improving our Best Practice Health and Safety strategies and systems. There will be a comprehensive handover for the successful applicant.

Fixed term Maternity cover contract starting on Monday 2nd June and ending 2nd February 2026. 20 hours per week based at our Epsom offices. Flexible start and finish times to be discussed prior to employment.

Takohanga | Responsibilities 

  • Support the Health and Safety Lead and deliver a professional, responsive, goal-oriented, and customer-focused approach to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and industry/sector standards and guidelines especially pertaining to the ACC AEP audit standards.
  • Supervise the Health and Safety (HS) committee meetings, ensuring that corrective actions are identified and implemented
  • Provide support for incident management and ensure that Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are effectively managed by team leads and receive appropriate training
  • Utilise our in-house training platform to create training / user modules and support management directives. Ensuring that all relevant parties are informed.
  • Support and role model cooperative and cohesive working relationships across all workforce layers.


Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | Skills and experience

  • Relevant accredited qualification in health and safety, injury prevention. Level 7 preferred.
  • Experience working for an ACC AEP employer would also be considered if combined with a teaching or other relevant qualification.
  • Proven Health and Safety experience and working knowledge of associated legislation.
  • Willing to follow instructions as set processes are already in place, ad hoc responsibilities will be consistent and superior organisational skills with high attention to details is essential.
  • Competence in training and educational methodologies. Hands on experience with Rise 360 or a similar e-learning tool essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
