He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Join our Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pool and Leisure Centre as the Team Leader for Fitness and play a key part in making the experience of our customers fun, safe, and enjoyable.

This role isn't about hanging around the step machines looking cool, this is about leading a team of Fitness Instructors who love to engage with our Customers, talk to them, and to understand their needs to encourage them to enjoy keeping fit & healthy on a regular basis.

You'll be responsible for everything that happens on the fitness floor, initiating service improvements, the retention of members and manage the development of new fitness programmes within your Centre.

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to proactively identify and where appropriate implement ways to improve customer experience and grow participation.
  • Employees are highly engaged, appropriately qualified and skilled with appropriate development plans in place
  • Ensuring hazard management plans, policy, processes, and training are effectively managed and there is ongoing compliance within the team.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll have experience managing a team within the health and fitness environment and a proven track record in developing & maintaining relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers. You will have experience leading group fitness classes e.g., BoxFit and Aqua classes.

You’ll also hold an NZ-recognised qualification in Fitness, Sport or Recreation, current REPs registration and a First Aid certificate.

This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. Our Lloyd Elsmore Park Pool and Leisure Centre operates a 7-day service, so the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, flexibility to work around these hours is crucial for this role.
