Campus Life is a Service Division that supports an engaging and inclusive campus experience for students at The University of Auckland. Campus Life operates a range of ‘wellbeing services’, such as Accommodation, Counselling and Health Services, that are aimed at removing personal barriers to academic success. It also operates ‘engagement’ services such as support for student organisations, social and sporting events, volunteering and leadership support that are aimed at helping students to maximise the non-classroom dimensions of the university experience.
Job Description
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
We’re looking for a highly organised coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery of retail operations and catering services across the University of Auckland’s campuses.
In this fast-paced and people-focused role, you’ll be the central point of contact for catering enquiries, oversee key administration related to our retail outlets and temporary vendors, and help ensure a high standard of service across our retail and catering network.
You’ll manage communications with vendors and University stakeholders, track and report on sales and performance data, coordinate catering bookings, and support marketing and service improvement initiatives. There will also be opportunities to support the Campus Store, Goldie Estate, and wider Commercial Services team as needed.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12-14 month fixed term role covering parental leave.
Remuneration is $62,400–$70,000 depending on skills and experience

We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, organised, and confident communicating with a wide range of people. You’ll bring a mix of coordination experience, customer service skills, and an eye for process improvement.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience in administration, retail, hospitality or food service settings
- Confidence managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries professionally
- Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Experience with data tracking and reporting
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and keep things running smoothly
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Excel, or point-of-sale systems would be an advantage, as would an understanding of food safety or catering operations.
