Job Description

Who are we looking for?
An opportunity has arisen for a supervisor to oversee operations at our Tuakau Sand site.

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor to join our team based in Tuakau. In this role you will oversee daily operations at our sand site ensuring production targets are met while maintaining health and safety standards. This is a hands on supervisory position suited to someone with strong leadership skills and practical experience in quarry or sand plant operations.

As Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing operations, supporting and coaching staff and assisting with the current and future development of the sand operation. Reporting to the Tuakau Sand Manager, you will ensure that staff are supported in all aspects of their work, providing solid leadership towards their development.

About you
You will have proven experience working as a supervisor and understand the importance of running an efficient and safe site. You’re a strong leader who communicates well and knows how to get the best out of your team. Health and safety are a top priority for you, and you lead by example. You’re confident operating machinery such as loader and diggers and hold relevant industry licence.

What we need from you

  • Ideally hold a B Grade Certificate of Competency or willing to work towards it.
  • Intermediate ability using Microsoft suite of programmes, Word, Excel.
  • A strong culture of safety leadership and working knowledge of the legislation pertaining to Quarrying.
  • Full Class 2 with WTR endorsements
  • Excellent people management, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to help develop production targets.
  • Practical Sand/Aggregate processing knowledge.
  • Plant Maintenance experience will be useful.
  • Experience and ability in operation of heavy mobile plant.
