Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting into the Head of Liquidity Policy and Governance, we have a strategically important opportunity for a subject matter expert to take on the role of Director Liquidity Policy. This role is of critical importance as the Director will be key in the interpretation and implementation of liquidity standards across WNZL. You will also support local operational ownership of BS13 and APS210 standards, internal liquidity management frameworks and policies and the annual review processes. This is a key opportunity for you to assist with the proactive management of Treasury’s liquidity policy function.

Key Tasks will include:

  • Being part of a successful Team implementing New Zealand and Australian liquidity standards across WNZL;
  • Providing subject matter expertise in order that liquidity policy interpretation aligns with the standards and guidance;
  • Ensuring Treasury’s liquidity risk management policies and practices are regularly reviewed, challenged, and implemented as intended.
  • Supporting compliance functions and meeting other related internal and regulatory expectations.
  • Support the Head of Treasury Policy and Governance to embed more effective liquidity risk management practices and enhance controls to better evidence and monitor ongoing compliance with BS13 and APS210 requirements.
  • Help to uplift understanding of the BS13 and APS 210 requirements and related expectations amongst stakeholders across WNZL.
  • Be a champion for Treasury Risk Appetite and culture.

  • Significant senior banking experience with expert knowledge of regulatory requirements being BS13, APS210 and associated standards
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with proven experience in policy writing
  • Applicable knowledge of other regulatory requirements across domestic and foreign jurisdictions
  • Ability to collaborate across broader teams to facilitate business outcomes
  • Advanced analysis and quantitative skills including modelling
  • Advanced user of analytical tools in Excel and strong Bi skills are highly desirable
  • A self-starter with demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
