Ko tō tūranga – your role
As our Senior Manager, Health, Safety, and Wellbeing you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety excellence across our teams and partners, ensuring that best practices are embedded throughout the organization.



Your leadership will be instrumental in designing and executing a cutting-edge HSW strategy, building frameworks that proactively identify risks and championing initiatives that make a real impact. From overseeing One NZ’s HSW risk assessments and compliance reporting to continuously improving safety programs, you will play a critical role in fostering a dynamic, proactive approach to workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.



Leading a dedicated team of two, you’ll coach, develop, and inspire them to grow, while also spearheading HSW committees, monitoring safety performance, and enhancing wellbeing systems.



Your ability to align HSW practices with business goals will be key, ensuring One NZ remains a leader in workplace safety. As a trusted advisor, you will work directly with the One NZ Executive and Board, providing transparency and accountability in our safety efforts. Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Lead and manage the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, providing coaching, development and support
  • Develop, implement and maintain HSW strategy and governance frameworks
  • Develop, implement & maintain HSW systems such as contractor management & incident management
  • Manage and run the HSW Executive Steering Committee along with oversight of the Retail / Corporate and Technology HSW Committees
  • Conduct company-wide risk assessments and ensure that all safety measures are in place and adhered to
  • Promote a positive safety culture across One NZ and our delivery partners
  • Develop and deliver monthly reporting to the One NZ Board and Infratil on our HSW status and continually improve the quality of this reporting
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of One NZ’s HSW programmes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing these


Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Proven experience as a leader withing Health, Safety & Wellbeing ideally from a high risk industry
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards
  • Professional certification in HSW such as NEBOSH, Bachelor’s Degree or similar
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience with management of third party providers and suppliers, specifically strong experience in contractor management within a high risk environment
  • Stakeholder management including senior management and Board
