Job Description
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising the IT systems across our care homes and support office. You will play a key role in ensuring all hardware, software, and network systems run efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to supporting our healthcare environment.
Location: Radius Care Support Office, Level 4/56 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland 1052
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Some duties include but not limited to:
- Systems Maintenance & Support: Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for servers, workstations, networking equipment, and other IT infrastructure
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including hardware, software, and network problems, to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- System Upgrades & Installations: Plan and execute system upgrades, software patches, and hardware installations to ensure all systems remain current and secure.
- Network Management: Monitor and maintain secure, reliable network connections between care homes, ensuring robust communication and data transfer capabilities.
- User Support & Training: Provide IT support to staff at care homes, including troubleshooting, training, and guidance on software, hardware, and IT systems.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with the IT team and other departments to implement technology solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve systems efficiency. Provide regular status updates and reports to management.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, IT Support Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, networks, and cloud services.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with network management, including VPNs, routers, firewalls, and switches.
- Understanding of IT security practices and compliance standards, particularly in a healthcare or regulated environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to care homes as needed.
- Legal entitlement to work in NZ long-term
