Compass Group NZ are looking for an exceptional Logistics Manager to join and lead our Logistics team at MoE Dispatch Centre Auckland.

A Logistic Manager has a daily responsibility of overseeing the efficient and safe delivery of school lunch services. This role involves managing the logistics of food distribution, ensuring compliance with health and safety as well as Food safety regulations and policies, to maintain the highest standard and drive operational excellence and improvement.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to meet company objectives and customer demands.
  • Manage daily logistics operations, including the coordination of shipments, storage, and transportation activities.
  • Oversee and optimize the entire supply chain process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth transportation and timely deliveries.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and better service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, transportation, and environmental policies.
  • Prepare and maintain logistics reports, including inventory levels, shipping schedules, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics staff, including training, performance evaluation, and development.
  • Resolve any logistics-related issues or delays promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction.

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3 -5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
